Solar eclipse of January, 15


24 percent of January Solar eclipse and a group of seagulls over the north of Shiraz city. You can see the sunspot 1040 in top of the eclipsed disc. Sunspot 1040 is a member of new Solar Cycle 24.

On January 15, 2010, the Moon passed directly in front of the sun, producing a "ring of fire" annular eclipse over a broad swath of the Indian Ocean and surrounding lands.
